We have arrived...at the border. And now we wait! Pray for things to move along and we’ll update you as the USA becomes closer...
The team is loaded up and headed out of town towards the Tecate border. We’ll update you when we arrive across the border.
It has been a long, hard and wonderfully empowering weekend in Ensenada, Mexico. While on one hand the team is ready to come home to regular water pressure/temperature and comforts of home, a part of their hearts are pleading to stay here where there's minimal connectivity and their hearts for Jesus are overflowing. Right now, the teams are spending some precious time in affirmations of one another for a job WELL done this weekend. Pray for sweet words of encouragement to fill their hearts and souls for what each of the 68 did this weekend in the name of Jesus. And then here are a few specific prayer requests in areas that the team was challenged in all weekend:
Perception - pray for their eyes to be fully opened and fixed on what Jesus wants them to see, hear, feel, and experience.
Perseverance - when times become difficult, help them to persevere and press on towards the prize that God ultimately has for them.
Promise - in good times and bad times, would each person always feel God's presence with them. He never abandons them. He is always with them.
Persistence - finally, would the impact of this weekend carry them well into junior high/middle school with a newfound faith, hope, and love for the Lord and His people. Would they strive to be different at home, work/school, activities, and so much more. May God's love pour out of everything they say and do, as testimonies of His sacrifice.
Aiming to start the long journey home at 10:15 am so stay tuned with travel updates from there on out. Love you guys and can't wait to share the stories and photos in-person later this evening!
It is unanimous, everyone cannot believe that the SK Mexico PEACE Trip is quickly coming to an end. To say that today was amazing, spectacular, life-changing, wonderful, unforgettable is an understatement. The time spent at church worshiping with adults and kids alike was the best day ever. Now pray for the team's debrief process. Even though the weekend flew by, the memories and moments will not. They will last a lifetime. And we pray that hearts are changed for Christ in unbelievable ways.
The team is up and at em busy preparing sermons, lessons, games, and MORE for iglesia en Mexico today! Village #2 is off already to their church ready to share God's Word. And then the remaining 3 churches will be off in just a few to head out and worship. Pray for a fruitful last full day of ministry as the team steps up and out in faith. God promises that today is the GO BIG day before they go home. Can't wait!
SUCH an awesome day to see God's name lifted up HIGH through our incredible 6th graders and their parents. Here are the village highlights and a few pics:
VILLAGE #1 - led by Mickey & Gary, they visited a new church partner who holds a weekly gathering in a new, low-income community. It was a beautiful and natural outreach opportunity as about 50 kids and their parents were there to learn about Jesus through worship and the team taught a lesson on God's SHAPE for each of them. Through coloring, games, lesson teaching, and more the team led well. Then after lunch the combined forces with Village #2 to evangelize in the local community of Roca Fuerte inviting them to come to church tomorrow morning.
VILLAGE #2 - led by Scott, had a FULL and fun day at Roca Fuerte. The morning was filled with teaching lessons and ministering to about 20 kids. They truly exemplified the body of Christ by teaching elements of all their lessons - SHAPE, salvation, fishing for men, and so much more through teaching, games, crafts, and more. Way to be so purpose-driven! And as noted above the team joined forces with Village #1 to reach the local community in support of Roca Fuerta in the name of Jesus.
VILLAGE #3 - led by Gloria & Bill, this team visited a long-time church partner of El Gran Rey. Similar to all of our villages they were blessed with tons of kids in the morning so much so that this team bravely divided up into two smaller teams. One stayed and taught at El Gran Rey while the other visited a nearby church ministry partner where they taught about 80 kids and fed them lunch. Then the team reunited over their lunchtime and prepared to teach about 12 children's leaders in all that they have personally seen and experienced in their time in children's ministry.
God was clearly GOOD! God was glorified! God is at work. Keep the prayers coming as inevitably there are weary and worn warriors after such a full day. Time to eat dinner, reflect on all that happened through solitude time with God, chapel, and village time. Day two...almost done!
Good morning, friends & family! The team is up and ready for a FULL day of ministry at each of our different church locations. There are some tired, unshowered, gurgly tummies this morning so please be praying for these team members to be filled by the POWER that only God can provide. Otherwise, we are all ready to go and be used to spread the beautiful name of Jesus throughout Mexico. Here we go!
We apologize as Internet has been down at Rancho Agua Viva for quite some time over this past month...but we are HERE. We arrived between 5:00 and 5:30 pm with a very smooth drive from Saddleback Church to Ensenada. Your prayers were greatly felt and appreciated. The team has had a wonderful time acclimating to Mexico, dining, and worshiping. As they move into a time of solitude with God and wrap up the day in villages, would you continue to pray for our students, parents, and leaders. May hearts be moved, lives changed, and the Kingdom impacted eternally. We love and appreciate you. We look forward to updating you tomorrow evening after our FULL day of ministry.
