On US Soil

it is official that all vans are on US soil. Praise God! We will stop for a bite to eat to refuel the team before heading to MO2. Imagine close to 6 pm for our ETA but will update once we're back on the road after dinner.

Border Crossing

The team is trucking along. Pray for the border crossing to go smoothly. May cars move safely and smoothly. Watch over each vans travels back to US soil. Closer and closer...

Homeward BOUND: SK Mexico Team

After a delicious breakfast, final challenge message brought by Melissa and precious time of affirmations, the 2017 SK Mexico PEACE Team is homeward bound.  As of 10:15 am they were on the road headed for the border. Lord, cover them in Your mighty hands of protection. May their travels be light and easy. Deliver them home safely. Stay tuned with updates as to when they cross the border and draw ever closer to MO2 landing.

SK Mexico SUNDAY Update

Once again, the teams had an incredible day of ministry attending, serving alongside and building relationships with their churches.  Some led the main service, others worked with the children's ministry and others were able to just attend and take it all in.  Through every village's unique ministry experiences they were challenged to share their stories, be creative in teaching a lesson or offer a willing heart to help with cleaning up around the church campus.  Well done, SK Mexico PEACE Team, for your incredible efforts in an action-packed weekend. The team is winding down after a long, full weekend of ministry and missions.

Pray for the team's debriefing process tomorrow (Monday). Cover them in prayers of protected travels home. We will update the blog often with ETA home updates on Monday. Until then...

SK Mexico SATURDAY Update

Thanks for your grace & patience in updates as connectivity is not quite the same in Mexico :)

What a DAY the team had as they divided and conquered via 4 different teams and churches to minister to the people of Mexico.

Village #1 led by Greg Uhrig got to serve the children of their church from start to finish. First, they got to go into the neighborhoods and invite kids to a day of fun at the church. Their efforts were successful as 40+ came. The group got to put YEARS of what they've done back at Saddleback into action as they taught 4 KSG lessons throughout the day filled with crafts, games, fun and faith. Well done, Village #1

Village #2 led by Kevin Walsh got to do ministry perfectly shaped for their team dynamic of who we call "the soccer boys". They too worked with kids from and around the church in children's ministry lessons but OF COURSE there was a soccer field right across the street where football was a must happen that tied into the day's lessons. The team also got to help the church in SK's #1 value of safety & security as they helped complete a staircase railing. The pastor had been praying for the hands to complete this project to ensure it is safe for the children going up and down stairs at church.

Village #3 led by Scott Santos engaged in a weekly ministry of Pastor Joaquin's church. They reached out in the local community, just as Village #1, to invite children to the day's fun. And what a great job they did! Special shout out to Timothy Clowers as he brought a powerful testimony, questions to follow-up and boldly asked if the children too wanted to know Christ. And 7 children responded that they did not know Jesus but were ready to make that decision today (Saturday)! Woohoo!

Finally, Village #4 led by Mickey Long demonstrated the greatest flexibility and willingness to go wherever and do whatever. They started the day working with children who were attending the women's Bible study alongside their mamas. It was a great partnership with the local church as the team supported them in their children's ministry and taught them some new lessons and ways to reach the children. The afternoon was a work project back at the ranch. The team worked extremely hard in the heat doing a great job meeting the needs of our hosts.

The villages are now off for a morning of church. They are dressed to the best and ready for another full day of ministry.  Continue to pray for energy, excitement and the Spirit to move in mighty ways!

SK Mexico: Saturday Update (COMING SOON)

Stay tuned for all the details on the SK Mexico team's full day of ministry. Everyone is fast asleep after a FULL day of serving.

Safe Arrival

As of 5:30 pm the SK Mexico PEACE Team officially arrived at "camp". Travels were safe and smooth; prayers were felt! The team got settled in and then were able to eat a YUMMY dinner. They just finished wrapping up chapel where they worshipped and prepared their hearts for the ministry and missions ahead. Pray for the teams' hearts to be fully ready for what tomorrow brings. Pray for a restful night's sleep after a long day of travels.
