Border Crossed

Around 3:10 all 5 vehicles smoothly crossed the border. Welcome home SK Mexico PEACE Team. Stopping for dinner shortly to refuel before coming home to YOU for hugs, stories, and endless memories and moments. One more post to come once the team hits the road for the final stretch

HOME!

The Journey Begins

Saddleback Irvine South departed around 8:30 am from ensenada. Saddleback Lake Forest just departed around 10:15 am after a powerful time of affirmation and appreciation of one another. The encouragement that poured forth was incredible. Now pray for a safe, smooth journey home. Pics to come of the last hours of ministry. And of course an update once athe border.

SUNDAY 5/27: CHURCH DAY

Everyone was dressed in their Sunday best and ready to worship the Lord with their brothers and sisters in Christ.  Definitely a cultural experience when compared to Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, that is for sure.  The team experienced so many memories and moments today, but here are just a few:

* Aubrey Olin stepping up to share her heart story
* Charlie McKeegan boldly sharing his heart story
* Pastor Kent Johnson sharing a message that God placed on his heart as the church congregation called upon the team to share some words.
* Big brother Riley Johnson wrapping up beautifully with his heart story.

Everyone was in great spirits after worshiping the Lord and serving Him all day.  Wrapped up back at camp with a hike to the crosses, a delicious meal, and a good night's rest after a FULL weekend of ministry.  Stay tuned for updates on departure from Mexico and ETA back to the MO2 parking lot.

Saturday 5/26 FULL Day of FUN

The SK Mexico Team had a FULL day of ministry and fun.  Here are a few snapshots of the day:

FRIDAY 5/25 - team prepping on Friday night in the dining hall

VILLAGE #1 (led by Laurie & Scott) - street evangelism, lunch fed to community kids and VBS all in an agricultural area of about 125 people where only 13 go to church.  Hearts and lives were transformed.  AND note the tall guys (Johnson boys & Greg) were utilized for a painting project.

VILLAGE #2 (led by Hannah & Bill) - VBS for children, feet washing opportunity for the leaders of the church, soccer (of course...what is a Mexico PEACE Trip without some futbol), and some physical labor as the team literally moved a wall for the church.

They Have ALL Arrived

Between 6:30-7:30 both the SK Lake Forest and Irvine South teams arrived at their campsite. Praise the Lord for safe travels. Pray for their time of connection with the Lord and one another. Give them great rest as they get ready for a FULL Saturday of ministry.

Smooth Travels So Far

First, the 30-person SK Mexico PEACE Team gathered together, loaded the vehicles, and departed by 11:30 am this morning...success!  Here is a team picture as you pray over each incredible servant leader.

The team's pit stop at Chula Vista for car insurance, quick lunch, and potty was successful.  Traffic has been moving along and they are well on their way now into Mexico.  Pray for a GREAT first night down in Ensenada as they prepare their hearts and minds for what God has in store for this weekend.

SK Mexico PEACE 2018

The first Saddleback Kids PEACE Team is packing, resting, preparing, and soon loading up to head down south of the border.  Stay tuned as THIS is the place where updates will be posted for the 2018 30-person Saddleback Kids Mexico PEACE Team.  Great things to come!
