SK Rwanda Day 4 (6/19/19)

We are back in action with full-color photos of fun again. And perfect timing after a FULL day of ministry that started @ 6:30 am breakfast until 8:30 pm. If this team pic of our incredible kids doesn't show it all I don't know what does.  The bond and unity amongst these 7 is amazing...so they had to get matching Rwanda bracelets to demonstrate it.  So, let's begin today's adventures:

Team 1Michael, Claudia, Bella, Chris, Kennedy, Didi, Robbie, Michelle, & Dakota
One last time to Christ Gospel Fellowship for a preschool-filled morning and then training of teachers and leaders. The team was able to mightily step in to support the Headmaster of Global Vision Academy as the 2 other teachers called out sick.  She masterfully managed 30 kiddos but the team's hands and feet were crucial in keeping kiddos managed, seated, snacked, and played.  They flip-flopped with Team 2's lesson sharing at CGF now the love of Jesus and how we can all catch His love.  So of course the bubbles and individual heart wands to catch bubbles were a huge hit.  Clearly, the team settled in and WELL as the preschoolers almost knocked down team members running in sheer enthusiasm to welcome them.

Then the afternoon was a beautiful reminder that God had the perfect plans in how the teams were divided up and who went where.  With Michael leading the charge as a passionate educator and administrator they taught about 15 teachers & leaders about the 4 different learning styles (see below).  The kids and adults dove in each taking a learning style sharing clear examples, tips, and wisdom.  It was exactly what this audience asked for and Team 1 delivered well.  Amazing!

Team 2: Karyce, Jodi, Conor, Allan, Dylan, Jennifer, & Sarah
One last time for this team to CLA was bittersweet as the bonds and connections with the kids and teachers have formed.  It was mostly about observing and supporting the 3 classrooms as, again, they are so lacking in people or materials support.  It was wonderful to see all that the teachers have challenged the 3-6 year olds (75 in total) in and how well they are doing with so very little resources.  After about 2 hours of being part of their typical day, then we were blessed to share an intentional less on the Prodigal Son, reminding the kids that God loves them and wants them to belong to His family no matter what.  Between a dramatic skit complete with Kinyarwanda narration to a coloring page, lost & found FUN game, and more the team not only impacted the kids but even modeled to the teachers how to more intentionally teach their kids around Biblical themes, concepts, etc.

This then led to the wonderful, close-knit conversation that this team had after lunch with 2 of the school teachers and 1 of their helpers.  It met the requested needs of the teachers regarding a reflection of the day as well as then tips for classroom management, creative use of resources, and intentional teaching of the Bible.  The teachers were grateful feeling encouraged and equipped for what God has called them to.

While most of today's ministry was set apart we were able to have a delicious lunch together AND then wrap up the evening with the team divided up differently to 1) prepare for ministry over the next 2 days and 2) do the KSG Leader Training @ CLA.  So Liza took Jodi, Conor, Karyce, Michael, Chris, Dylan, Dakota, & Bella to answer questions and share about KSG.  It is always a powerful time talking about the same struggles, opportunities, and blessings in kids discipleship in totally different continents and cultures.  Powerful night!

Now to bed for another FULL ministry day tomorrow at new preschools and then street kid ministry.  As always pray for rest for this tired team...especially several of our days who are fighting through middle-of-night wake-ups.  Pray for hearts to be strengthened as the team enters into a new ministry relationship tomorrow...still in 2 teams just different preschools/churches.  Pray for hearts to be prepared to be overflowing in love, kindness, compassion, and more as they reach out to street kids.  Another promise of another day filled with God's promises.  Night night!
