SK Philippines: DAY THREE

We had an awesome day of serving along side Saddleback SK Manila and several PEACE volunteers at an elementary school.

This was a very successful day of service to a target school for Saddleback Manila.  Probably the MOST collaborative PEACE effort I have seen so far. We were working side by side with SK Staff and volunteers as well as several other church members who are a part of the PEACE efforts for Saddleback Manila. During gardening (a beautification of the school grounds) many of the school kids were working alongside us; we were all amazed at how hard and joyful the school kids worked to help make their school look nice.  Many of the kids even stayed after school to work with us.  The beautiful thing was that through Saddleback Manila's Miracle of Mercy campaign were able to purchase all the plants, soil and the paint supplies for what we needed.  They also provided all the gifts bags of note pads and pencils for the children (300).  We covered the snack bags (300) and lunch for us, volunteers, and teachers.

It was a long day of serving the children through games, song, teaching, and physical labor.  The team had such a blessed day they didn’t want to leave.  The team’s hearts were heavy as we loaded in the vans to leave for dinner and debrief.  What a blessed day!

Thank you for your prayers!  Everything is going great!  Everyone on the team participated and their was just pure joy and energy for our kids and the elementary school kids!
