SK Argentina: July 22

SADDLEBACK KSG TEAM ARGENTINA 2018
Blog Post June 22, 2018

Down for devotions at 0730 (we are now on John’s military time 😊). Our devotional today was on I Corinthians 12:12-27. We are all members of the body of Christ. Everyone is different, but we are all part of the same body. Remember that even though we are all different, our operating system is Jesus Christ. Remember the warmth we felt serving here in Argentina, even though we all have different gifts. Remember we are all leaders in the church, even though we may not all be on stage or speaking to large groups of people.

After that we did Affirmations, which took most of the day (7 hours). An Affirmation is when we tell each person on our team what we admire and appreciate about that person. Negative statements, backhanded compliments and sarcasm are not allowed. It was truly an inspiring time to affirm each person and bring up things that person did and said that no one else may have seen. It was an inspiring time of blessing.

This afternoon was our free day. We went to Caminito in the La Boca region of Buenos Aires. This is an area where there are lots of colorfully painted buildings, street markets and little shops. It is right on the water, near the port area. We did a little shopping for souvenirs and browsed the markets.

Tonight we were a bit of a fractured group. Ariana wasn’t feeling well (a few of us are a bit under the weather), so Liz and Ariana stayed in, and John went with Jessica to meet with Saddleback BA staff.  The rest of us went to dinner.

Tonight is our last night in Argentina. We said good-bye to Joy and Jack, who are leaving tomorrow morning (about 12 hours before our flight) to fly to London. We will miss Joy’s smile, her warmth and her “White Beast” (Joy’s name for her camera, but John thought she was talking about him, which was a funny moment). We will miss Jack’s silliness, his smile and his way with the other kids.  We love you, Justus League!
