SK Costa Rica: DAY TWO

We did home visits this morning to 5 families where we delivered food and household supplies.  These families were selected by a man of peace in a poor neighborhood.  Vida Abundante has a good relationship with each of them.  This was a close up and personal experience for our teams.  We prayed for each family their houses.  Our KSG students stepped up BIG time by sharing their heartfelt prayers for these families.  Hearts were definitely broken today and the needs are great as you know walking in the poorest of communities is heartbreaking.  We had a long debrief discussion with the parents and kids.  The tears and cries of people in real need of basic provisions was difficult yet eye-opening to this team.

The team again was overwhelmed with the heartbreaking living conditions of the families that we visited.  For example, in the picture below is a family of a single mom with 10 kids.  Mom goes to night school for primary education with her young kids.  She is 43 years old and her health is not good.  Very sad but prayers can and will work a miracle in her life.
